While changing their names before starting their career is common for celebrities, some of them took a big risk of losing their brand by switching their monikers at the height of their career.

AceShowbiz - It's probably hard to find someone who never heard Lady Antebellum before. So, when the "Need You Know" hitmaker decided to change their name to Lady A in June 2020, it was a big decision to make. While they noted that the name had not been intended as racist, the trio shared that it was the best to change their name in the wake of protests against racism and police violence.
Announcing the new name on Instagram, the country group said that they're "regretful and embarrassed to say that we did not take into account the associations that weigh down this word referring to the period of history before the civil war, which includes slavery." The band, which formed in 2006 in Nashville, added, "When we set out together almost 14 years ago, we named our band after the southern 'antebellum' style home where we took our first photos. As musicians, it reminded us of all the music born in the south that influenced us … southern rock, blues, R&B, gospel and of course country."
