The 'Pursuit of Happyness' star is apparently seeking help for his betterment in the wake of the Oscars incident, during which he smacked Chris Rock across the face.

AceShowbiz - Will Smith apparently realized his personal issue after the Oscars incident. The Academy Award-winning actor has reportedly sought help for his betterment following the March 27 ceremony, during which he slapped Chris Rock onstage.

A source tells ET that the "King Richard" star "has been going to therapy after the Oscars incident." The source, however, doesn't specify what issue that the 53-year-old star is trying to fix by attending therapy.

Last month, Will traveled to Mumbai, India. Spotted arriving on April 23 without his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, the "Wild Wild West" star appeared to be in good spirits as he was all smiles and waved to the photographers, who waited for him and were shouting his name to get his attention.

It was later reported that Will went to the country for spiritual purposes. A source told PEOPLE later in the same month that he went there to practice yoga and meditation.

Will overshadowed his Oscar win with his behavior at the 2022 Academy Awards. Before being announced as the winner of the Best Actor prize, he slapped Chris across the face for joking about Jada's shaved head.

Will has since apologized for his act, admitting that it was "shocking, painful and inexcusable." He also resigned as a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, while the Academy banned him from attending its events for the next 10 years. In response to the Academy's decision, he simply stated, "I accept and respect the Academy's decision."

In the aftermath of the Oscars confrontation, Will has been dropped from several projects. He, however, won't stay away from the camera for a long time as he has been scheduled to appear on David Letterman's Netflix talk show "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction".

He, however, is not expected to talk about the Oscars incident since his interview was filmed prior to the prize-giving event. The new season of the chat series will premiere on May 20.
