AceShowbiz - Sterling Shepard is seemingly enjoying his single life, months after calling it quits with his wife of almost four years, Chanel Iman. The 28-year-old NFL star was spotted partying with Mary J. Blige amid his divorce from the model.
The New York Giants wide receiver was pictured hanging around with the so-called Queen of Hip-Hop Soul at Harbor New York City on Friday, January 7 to celebrate famed stylist Misa Hylton's birthday. The three were pictured together at the soiree.
According to Page Six which obtained the photo of the threesome at the party, Sterling appeared unfazed and was "dripping in bling" that night. Moreover, sources claimed that the athlete and the "Power Book II: Ghost" star were very "cozy" all evening.
The site reported earlier this month that Sterling had quietly filed for divorce from Chanel last year after three years of marriage. He reportedly filed the paper on June 7, 2021. In the court documents, the professional football player cited irreconcilable differences that "existed for at least six months" as the reason of the divorce. The documents also note there is "no reasonable prospect of reconciliation."
Sterling requests joint legal custody of their two children. He also asks his house to be his daughters' primary residence, while Chanel has "supervised parenting time" with the girls.
The estranged couple has already completed two mediation sessions as noted in a filing submitted on September 7. They will continue the process and had a third session scheduled for October 12, 2021. A case management hearing is scheduled for February 23 this year.
Neither Sterling nor Chanel has addressed their split as a source told Us Weekly, "They are going to try and remain civil and friendly towards each other."
