AceShowbiz - Was LeBron James taking aim at Tristan Thompson over the latter's current paternity drama? The Los Angeles Lakers ace has been caught on camera shouting expletives in front of the Canadian-born athlete after Tristan confirmed he's the father of Maralee Nichols' son.
Things got heated between the two on Tuesday night, January 4. During the final moments, LeBron scored a point that sent Lakers to a 118-112 lead over Tristan's team Sacramento Kings. After the play, he walked over the Kings' bench and yelled, "I'm a mother**king problem, b***h."
As LeBron taunted his opponents, an announcer said, "He's talking to Tristan Thompson, his former teammate." The announcer also noted that James "looked right" at Tristan's face. As for Tristan's reaction, the camera panned to see him frowning.
LeBron and Tristan played together on the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2014 to 2018 before the former moved on to the California team. TMZ noted though that LeBron's outburst likely wasn't a personal jab at Tristan as they two still had a relationship after LeBron's move to Lakers.
Meanwhile, social media users can't help poking fun at Tristan for his "priceless" reaction. "Tristan Thompson over there thinking about cheating again," one person mocked him. Another similarly guessed, "N***a straight up thinking about who he hitting directly after this game."
"That Tristan face was hilarious," a third pointed out. Someone quipped, "Tristan doing the math on child support payments for 18 years." A fifth chimed in, "Tristan Thompson like, 'Yeah, you don't know how many problems I done caused Chloe (sic),' " while another joked, "Tristan looking like, you the least of my problems bruh."
LeBron's supposed jab at Tristan comes after the latter confirmed that he fathered Maralee Nichols' baby. "Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols," he said in a statement posted on his Instagram Story on Monday, January 3.
"I take full responsibility for my actions," the 30-year-old vowed. "Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son. I sincerely apologize to everyone I've hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately."
Tristan then publicly apologized to his ex and other baby mama, Khloe Kardashian, whom he was dating when he had an affair with Maralee. "Khloe, you don't deserve this," he wrote. "You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years."
"My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think," he continued expressing his regret, before concluding his lengthy note, "Again, I am so incredibly sorry."
