AceShowbiz - Jim Carrey couldn't be more grateful to be featured in The Weeknd's new album. After the Canadian star announced the release date of "Dawn FM", the "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" actor said he's "thrilled to play a part" in the upcoming project.
The 31-year-old singer, real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, shared a snippet for the project on Instagram and Twitter on Monday, January 3. The trailer teased "a new sonic universe from the mind of The Weeknd."
The video also unveiled the list of The Weeknd's collaborators, including Jim, Quincy Jones, Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, as well as Oneohtrix Point Never. Alongside the one-minute-long footage, he wrote, "new album : dawn FM // january 7th."
Jim later quote-retweeted The Weeknd's post. He gushed, "I listened to Dawn FM with my good friend Abel @theweeknd last night. It was deep and elegant and it danced me around the room. I'm thrilled to play a part in his symphony."
Catching wind of the comedian's praise, the "Save Your Tears" hitmaker thanked him. He said, "Thank you for being a part of this. It's kismet. Full circle."
A few days prior, The Weeknd hinted at his new music by posting a screenshot of his text messages with XO Records co-founder, La Mar Taylor. In the text, La Mar was seen greeting the crooner, "Happy New Year brother! What we thinking ??"
"Happy new year!" the ex-boyfriend of Selena Gomez replied. "Everything feels chaotic again. Music can heal and that feels more important than another album rollout. Let's just drop the whole thing and enjoy it with the people... XO."
"Dawn FM" will follow The Weeknd's fourth album, "After Hours". Although the singer did not receive any nominations for the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards with the set, he managed to win the Billboard Music Award for Top R&B Album, the Juno Awards for Album of the Year and Contemporary R&B/Soul Recording of the Year with the album.
