The 'Planet Her' artist, who previously complained about her 4C texture, receives compliments from many Internet users after she embraces her natural hair.

AceShowbiz - Doja Cat has proudly shown off her more authentic self. After she gave fans a look at her natural curly hair, the "You Right" singer found herself being showered with love from her online devotees.

On Monday, December 27, the 26-year-old made use of Instagram to post a throwback blurry selfie. In the photo, she was seen wearing a yellow bra with a Pikachu face on it and a Pikachu headpiece.

Many have since left complimentary comments underneath the snap. "Okay but the natural hair >>>>> [several heart-eyed emojis] I wanna see it inna music video idc," one person gushed, with another exclaiming, "OMG GORGEOUS HAIR." A third added, "How is she sexy no matter what."

It's unclear why Doja shared the picture since she already uploaded it on Instagram back in September 2018. At the time, she announced that she was about to embark on a tour. She also wrote in the caption, "THIS IS ME SNEEZING IN A PIKACHU COSTUME GO F**K YOURSELF."

Despite the self-love, Doja previously complained about her 4C texture. "4C can suck my a**," she ranted in a video surfacing online in May 2020. "4C can bend over and lick my a**... Jesus Christ...why even God was making this 4C hair."

Unsurprisingly, the "Planet Her" artist drew backlash over her remarks, prompting her to set the record straight. Admitting that she had struggled with her natural hair, she said during an Instagram Live, "When my hair is straightened or I have a wig on, I'm pretty much OK. But when I'm trying to comb out, wash, do this twist, everything, it's frustrating for me. It's very hard for me."

"A lot of my friends would agree, who have hair like mine, who have a hard time taking care of it. What I think that the mistake may have been that I made was saying it on a social platform, saying it out in public. Maybe being honest about how I feel," she went on explaining. "In no f**king way does it mean that I hate my hair. My hair is amazing. I have beautiful hair. I get lots of compliment on it."

"I know that I'm beautiful and I love myself. That's why I parade myself on f**king social media constantly," the Grammy nominee continued. "I love my skin color. I think I'm beautiful."
