In a new interview, the 'Divergent' actress also reflects on her time filming 'Titanic' with the 'Revenant' actor, during which she 'turned 21 on that shoot, and Leo turned 22.'

AceShowbiz - Kate Winslet got really emotional during a recent reunion with her "Titanic" co-star Leonardo DiCaprio. In an interview with The Guardian which was published on Thursday, December 23, the actress said that the meeting was the first after they were apart for years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I've known him for half my life! It's not as if I've found myself in New York or he's been in London and there's been a chance to have dinner or grab a coffee and a catch-up," the Oscar-winning actress shared, admitting that she "couldn't stop crying" when she met him recently. "We haven't been able to leave our countries. Like so many friendships globally, we've missed each other because of COVID."

Of Leonardo, who also starred alongside her in 2008's "Revolutionary Road", Kate added, "He's my friend, my really close friend. We're bonded for life."

In the interview, the "Divergent" actress also reflected on her time filming "Titanic" with Leonardo. "I turned 21 on that shoot, and Leo turned 22," she said, adding that making the James Cameron-directed blockbuster which sent both of them to A-list stardom "wasn't pleasant" for them.

Referring to how Leonardo complained about the movie's taxing production, Kate said while laughing, "I remember! I remember that he was [miserable]! It wasn't pleasant for any of us, but we were all in it together. Though he had way more days off than I ever bloody did. I guess I was raised to be grateful and just get on with it." She added, "I didn't feel it was my right to be miserable, and if I was miserable I certainly would not have let a journalist know. There is no way I would have let that slip!"

Kate has never been shy to gush over "The Wolf of Wall Street" actor. Back in 2016, the actress called Leonardo "a solid, loyal person" in an interview with PEOPLE. She continued raving, "He's a great friend, he always has been, and not just to me, but to everyone around him. He still has friends he had when we made 'Titanic'. In many ways, he hasn't changed a bit, but in other ways, he absolutely has changed."
