The former Little Mix singer is reportedly told to 'keep offline as much as possible' as 'no one wants a full-blown Twitter spat' ahead of her first big performance of 'Boyz'.

AceShowbiz - Jesy Nelson apparently only has a limited time to spend on social media after blackfishing controversy. The "Boyz" songstress was reportedly forced to stay off social media to avoid "spat" ahead of her first TV performance.

A source told The Sun that the 30-year-old singer only logs into her Instagram account to share quick fan videos before logging back out again. On the reason why, the source spilled, "Bosses have told Jesy to keep offline as much as possible and she's locked herself away in rehearsals with a tight-knit team."

The informant went on to say that Jesy has been targeted by trolls. The so-called inside source continued, "[Jesy] is aware of the leaked DM's sent from [Leigh-Anne Pinnock]'s account but is keeping quiet as no one wants a full-blown Twitter spat."

The source further explained, "Jesy never thought things would pan out this way with 'Boyz'." Though so, the insider added that the controversy "made her more determined than ever to get things right and to make her solo career a success."

Jesy was confirmed to be performing her debut solo single "Boyz" on "The Graham Norton Show" earlier this month. Of her first time performing "Boyz" on TV, a source said, "Graham is a safe pair of hands so she feels comfortable going on the show. After the past week, it's time to bring it back to the music."

Jesy will make an appearance on the hit BBC chat show alongside Judi Dench, Salma Hayek, Jamie Dornan and Tinie Tempah. Despite being one of the guest stars, Jesy is the only one who will have a short interview with Graham Norton.

"As Jesy is the music guest she won't be on all of the show," a TV source explained. "Like with Chris Martin from Coldplay last week, Jesy will perform and then join the rest of the guests... I'd guess at 15 minutes at the end of the show in total."

Jesy was accused of blackfishing in the music video for her debut solo single, "Boyz". In a leaked text chain, Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne appeared to suggest Jesy had darkened her skin and changed her hair to appear more black in the promo.

After facing backlash online, Jesy apologized publicly during an Instagram live with Nicki Minaj, who also appeared in the MV for potentially offending anyone after being accused of blackfishing. "I personally want to say that my intention was never, ever to offend people of color with this video and my song because like I said, growing up as a young girl, this is the music that I listened to," she explained.
