Jayne Rivera admits that she 'understood the negative reaction,' but insists that there's nothing 'wrong' with sharing the images of her father 's open casket on Instagram.

AceShowbiz - A Miami influencer was slammed online after she posted pictures of her posing sexily in front of her dad's coffin. In response to the backlash, Jayne Rivera insisted that "there is nothing wrong" with the pictures that she posted on her Instagram account.

According to NBC News, while Jayne admitted that she "understood the negative reaction," she insisted that there was nothing "wrong" with sharing the images of her father Jose Antonio Rivera's open casket on the app. "There is nothing wrong with what I posted, and I stand by that," the 20-year-old said.

According to Jayne, the photo shoot was done "with the best intentions in a manner my father would have approved with had he still been alive." She added, "Everyone handles the loss of a loved one in their own ways; some are more traditional while others might come across as taboo. For me, I treated the celebration as if my father was right next to me, posing for the camera as he had done on many occasions prior."

Jayne went on to say that she wanted to share the loss with her followers as she often shared pictures of her father when he was alive. "I have worked extremely hard for eight long years building my audience," the social media influencer alleged. "People from the outside judge a book by its cover without stopping to understand the intentions or underlying meanings of the book." Jayne also shared that her Instagram account has since been "disabled" without a reason being provided to her.

In the controversial photos, Jayne could be seen donning a plunging, fitted black dress that allowed her to flaunt her cleavage. The pictures saw her making various poses in front of her dad's open casket. "Butterfly fly away," so she wrote in the caption. "Rip Papi you were my best friend. A life we lived."

In response to the pictures, a critic wrote on Twitter, "Have I mentioned the problem of a narcissistic and performative culture." Another person added, "she's f**king weird for that." Some others, meanwhile, defended Jayne. "Not what I'd have done, though grief is a weird thing and maybe putting this girl on blast on the day of her dad's funeral is a thing you could have chosen not to do," one person said.
