Under the tutelage of Mark Wahlberg's Peter Sullivan, Holland's Nathan Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey to unravel the mystery of his missing brother, Sam.

AceShowbiz - When he is not busy saving the world, Tom Holland goes seeking treasure. The "Spider-Man: No Way Home" actor stars in "Uncharted", a big-screen adaptation of the video games of the same name, which first trailer has now been made available online for preview.

Courtesy of Sony Pictures Entertainment, the video opens with Holland's Nathan Drake who works as a bartender at some kind of luxury lounge. There, he meets Mark Wahlberg's Peter Sullivan. After a few lighthearted barbs thrown between the two, they appear to become friends as Peter takes Nathan to his apartment, where Nathan spots a map of Ferdinand Magellan's travels.

Finding their common interest, Nathan and Peter set off on a globe-trotting journey to find the lost treasure which will possibly give Nathan an answer to his missing older brother Sam, who disappeared while searching for the same treasure.

Nathan is then seen swimming into a cave, sailing a boat and meeting Sophia Ali's Chloe Frazer, a fellow fortune hunter who is also described as Nathan's love interest. The trailer then offers glimpses of him in action-packed scenes, dangling from hanging lamps, firing shot on a ship and hanging for dear life on a plane.

Based on one of the best-selling, most critically acclaimed video game series of all time, "Uncharted" introduces audiences to the young street-smart Nathan Drake (Holland) and showcases his first treasure hunting adventure with wisecracking partner Victor "Sully" Sullivan (Wahlberg). In an action-adventure epic that spans the globe, the two go in dangerous pursuit of "the greatest treasure never found" while also tracking clues that may lead to Nathan's long-lost brother.

The film, which was in development hell for years before Ruben Fleischer was confirmed as director in February 2020 with Holland attached in the lead role, is scripted by Rafe Judkins, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway based on a story by Judkins. It also stars Tati Gabrielle and Antonio Banderas as a ruthless treasure hunter. The movie is slated for theatrical release on February 18, 2022 in the United States.
