Jason Alexander talks about his marriage annulment with the 'I'm a Slave 4 U' hitmaker as he calls for an end of her conservatorship following abuse claims.

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears' first husband Jason Alexander was tricked into annulling their brief marriage and has called for the end of her conservatorship.

Alexander impulsively tied the knot with the "Baby One More Time" singer in Las Vegas in 2004. The marriage was annulled just 55 hours later.

"They (the people managing Britney's affairs) told me if I would sign the contracts - the annulment - they would let me and Britney continue our relationship, and if we felt the same way in six months they would give us a proper marriage," Jason said on the 13 July (21) edition of the "Toxic: The Britney Spears Story" podcast.

"So I had no reason to believe otherwise. I thought that's what the truth was. They were allowing Britney and I to still have phone communication. So we were talking every day and I still believed the story I was told, that they were going to let us continue to talk and then we would have this marriage, right, in the future if we felt the same way."

But Jason later found out he'd been completely cut off. When he tried to make contact with Britney after 30 days, the line had been disconnected.

"Literally the day after, like, the 30 days was up, I remember trying to call the number I had for Britney and it was like, 'Beep, beep, beep (the sound of a disconnected phone).' I'm like, 'F**k they got me! Motherf***ker!' So that was it."

The current terms of the pop star's conservatorship prevent her from remarrying or making her own reproductive decisions, she testified in June (21). Her conservators have denied that the arrangement affects her personal life in any way.

This week (ends16Jul21), she successfully retained her own attorney, Mathew Rosengart, to represent her in her legal battle, and begged for her estranged father, Jamie Spears, to be charged for his "abusive" handling of her life these past 13 years.

Britney married Kevin Federline in 2004 and they divorced in 2007, one year before she was placed in the conservatorship she is now seeking to end. The former couple shares teenage sons, Sean and Jayden.
