Poirier also said the two "are gonna fight again, whether it's in the Octagon or on the sidewalk."

Meanwhile, UFC president Dana White predicted a fourth showdown, telling reporters, "The fight didn't get finished. You can't have a fight finish that way. We'll see how this whole thing plays out. Who knows how long Conor is out? When Conor is healed and ready to go, we'll do the rematch, I guess. Poirier will do his thing until Conor is ready."

The crowd at the big fight included stars like former U.S. leader Donald Trump and Justin Bieber and couples Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly and Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker.

On Instagram, McGregor posted a picture of him on a stretcher as he's taken away from the ring. "You need people like me," he wrote in the caption.

His injury came only two months after he welcomed his third child with with fiancee Dee Devlin.

"The McGregor Clan is now a family of 5...," the proud dad introduced his newborn to his online devotees. "Healthy baby boy delivered! Baby and Mammy Wonder Woman are doing great! God I thank you for everything you give to me and my family in this world. My new born son, Rian McGregor (sic)."
