The 'Farming' actress claims she was covered in bruises after filming her role as an angry woman born with a brain disorder in an upcoming movie called 'Jolt'.

AceShowbiz - Actress Kate Beckinsale was left battered and bruised by her role as a rage-filled woman in new action movie "Jolt".

The British star portrays bouncer Lindy, a woman born with a brain disorder which makes it difficult to control her angry outbursts, and although she embraced the "ballsy" nature of her character, she couldn't help but pick up a series of minor injuries on set.

"It's usually the most mundane things that leave you with a bruise, like opening the window," she told Daily Mail columnist Baz Bamigboye.

"You do all these fights and it's carefully managed and choreographed and then you've got to drop to your knee and that's when you end up with a completely black leg."

Kate Beckinsale was last seen on the big screen in "Farming". She took home the Best Actress gong at the National Film Awards U.K. for her role in the film. She was lauded at a July 1 ceremony at the Porchester Hall in London.

She said, "Thank you for voting me Best Actress at this year's National Film Awards U.K. I wish I could be there to pick it up in person but unfortunately the COVID quarantine is stopping me from being able to do that."

"I want to thank all of our cast but particularly Damson Idris, who was the sun around which everybody orbited as is the most brilliant actor."

Other winners included Rowan Atkinson, who received Global Contribution to Motion Picture and Lifetime Achievement Award for his legendary career on screen, and Ricky Gervais, who picked up the Best Screenplay award for his hit Netflix comedy series "Afterlife".
