During an interview on 'Today', the 'In Case You Didn't Know' singer admits that the picture book titled 'Love You, Little Lady' will be 'one of the more interesting things' he has written.

AceShowbiz - Country star Brett Young has turned children's book author after drawing inspiration from his new single, "Lady".

The "In Case You Didn't Know" singer originally wrote the track to pay tribute to his 20-month-old daughter Presley and his wife, Taylor, but the song caught the attention of publishing officials at HarperCollins, and they thought the subject matter would make a good book.

"The publishers came to us after hearing the song with an idea," Young told U.S. breakfast show "Today".

The proposal intrigued the couple, which is expecting its second child, and the pair decided to work on the picture book "Love You, Little Lady" together.

"With one little one in the house already and another one on the way, my wife and I thought we could come together for a cool little venture together, so it'll be one of the more interesting things I've written."

"Love You, Little Lady" describes the joy the parents feel watching their baby girl come into her own, and serves as a love letter from father to daughter, as Young recalls his many firsts as a father, including hearing her heartbeat in the womb, cradling the tot, and watching her take her first steps.

The book, which features illustrations from Airin O'Callaghan, is set for release on August 24.

Young isn't the first country star to add children's author to his resume - Kelly Clarkson and Dolly Parton are among the artists who have also found success in the world of kids' literature.

The "Here Tonight" crooner married Taylor in Palm Desert, California in November 2018. They welcomed their first child together in October 2019.
