The 'Shape of You' hitmaker is looking forward to his upcoming TikTok Euro 2020 gig where he is scheduled to debut his brand new single called 'Bad Habits'.

AceShowbiz - Ed Sheeran can't wait for fans to hear his new single on 25 June (21).

The pop star has been busily working on new music in recent months, and he's thrilled to be releasing "Bad Habits" later this month.

"I always aim to push myself and my music in new directions and hopefully you'll hear that on the new single," Ed says. "Feels great to be back!"

The confirmation of the release date came after projections of Ed in a vampire costume appeared on a number of London landmarks.

The singer, who hasn't released an album since "No.6 Collaborations Project" in 2019, is also poised to perform his new single at Ipswich Town Football Club's Portman Road stadium on 25 June for TikTok's UEFA Euro 2020 show.

Sheeran was recently announced as the team's new sponsor.

"I started sponsoring Framlingham Town Under-11 girls team, they emailed me... and then I was like, 'I wonder how it is to sponsor Ipswich?' " he said.

Ed knew the team's previous sponsorship deal was ending and he was keen to fill the void.

"I just enquired, 'Do you guys need a sponsor?' and they were like, 'Yeah for sure,' " he explained. "It's been a long, long process."

Euro 2020 was originally slated to take place last year but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The opening ceremony featured U2 rockers Bono and The Edge along with DJ Martin Garrix. The trio previously recorded the event's official song, "We Are the People".
