On Friday, May 8, InStyle magazine posted on its Instagram account about Musk's explanation on "how to pronounce his and #grimes' baby's name, X Æ A-12." Paltrow was referring to the time she and then-husband Chris Martin generated buzz for choosing Apple as the name of their first child together. Back in 2004, she told Oprah Winfrey, "Basically it was because, when we were first pregnant, her daddy said, 'If it's a girl I think her name should be Apple. It sounded so sweet, and it conjured such a lovely picture for me, you know?"

"Apples are so sweet and they're wholesome, and it's biblical. And I just thought it sounded so lovely," the Goop founder went on explaining. "Then she was born and it became like an international outrage, which I found surprising because there are people named Rose or Lily or Ivy or June or, you know, lots of pretty nouns."

Paltrow was married to Martin for 12 years before she filed for divorce in 2015. Together, they share two children together, 15-year-old Apple and 14-year-old Moses. Two years after finalizing their divorce, the Hollywood actress tied the knot with producer Brad Falchuk in The Hamptons on Long Island, New York.

In regards to Musk and his baby name, the 48-year-old tech mogul welcomed a child with Grimes on May 4. Days later, he spilled on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast that his singer girlfriend was responsible for their baby's unique name.

"First of all, my partner is the one that actually mostly came up with the name… she's great at names," the Space X founder explained. "It's just 'X,' the letter 'X,' and the 'Æ' is pronounced 'ash' and then 'A-12' is my contribution. Archangel 12, the precursor to the SR-71, coolest plane ever. It's true."
