The conservative political commentator's latest controversial tweet that violated Twitter's policy told Michigan residents to go to work despite Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's stay-at-home order.

AceShowbiz - Candace Owens' controversial tweets about coronavirus have finally cost her her platform to voice her opinions on social media. The political commentator has been suspended from Twitter after criticizing Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer's stay-at-home order and urging people to violate the directive.

The tweet in question read, "Apparently [Governor Whitmer] believes she is a duly elected dictator of a socialist country. The people of Michigan need to stand up to her. Go to work. The police think she's crazy too. They are not going to arrest 10,000,000 people for going to work."

The tweet has been removed by Twitter, with a spokesperson explaining, "The tweet violated Twitter’s COVID-19 misinformation policy, specifically around heightened-risk health claims." The spokeswoman added that according to the policy, Candace's tweet involved "denial of ... government body recommendations to decrease an individual's likelihood of exposure to COVID-19 with the intent to influence users into acting contrary to recommended guidance."

The site also punished the right-wing political activist by giving her a "timeout" before her profile could be reinstated. Complaining about the site's decision, she said in a statement to the MAGA blog Gateway Pundit, "Twitter has locked me out of my account but has decided to omit which of their policies I have violated. Apparently, encouraging citizens to go to work is a violation, but Alexandria Ocasion Cortez encouraging workers to boycott and protest is not."

Doubling down on her controversial tweet, she added, "I stand by my statement about Governor Whitmer acting as a dictator. Both the Sherriff Departments and the citizens, and the state legislature of Michigan are in agreement with me. I will not kowtow to a socialist world order that seeks to limit my constitutional freedom of speech."

Many of Candace's fans and fellow conservatives have supported her, with one tweeting, "Twitter is suspending people for disagreeing with @GovWhitmer - why because Dwhitmer is a Narcissistic Freak that can’t even fix the damm roads!!! #FreeMichigan #FreeCandaceOwens."

Another added, "Stand you ground @RealCandaceO Don't delete the tweet. Better yet, go to an alternative platform and let the word out so we can all leave twitter.#FreeCandaceOwens #FreeJamesWoods."

This isn't the first time Candace made controversial statement about COVID-19. In April, the 31-year-old ranted on Twitter after she was approached by a police officer for not wearing a mask while inside Whole Foods.
