When sharing his thoughts on marriage and dating in a new interview, the 'Pretty Brown Eyes' hitmaker also touches on the topic of his two-year relationship with model Gigi Hadid.

AceShowbiz - Cody Simpson has uncovered what led him to be attracted to the "fiercely independent" Miley Cyrus. When talking about his views on dating and marriage, the "Pretty Brown Eyes" hitmaker credited the strong women in his life for him enjoying being in a relationship with such individuals.
Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald about the matter, the 23-year-old shared how his maternal grandmother Gail, paternal grandmother Christina and mother Angie set "a beautiful example of what a reliable and responsible human being is." Admitting that it felt "like I had three mums growing up on the Gold Coast," he confessed, "I owe a lot of my humility to these women."
All of these life lessons apparently brought him to Miley. Gushing over how "wonderful" it was to be with the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker, he couldn't help but praise her, "She is creative and inspiring, fiercely independent and encourages me to be my own person, too. We are both creative individuals who support one another with our work."
"Miley also inspires my art," Cody admitted. "There's some romance in the poems I have written and yeah, they might be about her. It's inevitable that what happens in my private life comes out in my work."
During the talk, the "All Day" singer has also gotten candid about his past relationship with Gigi Hadid. "I dated Gigi Hadid for two years and have always enjoyed being with independent women who are strong individuals," he recalled. "I have never really been heartbroken in the deepest sense, but I have been disappointed in relationships."
Elsewhere in the interview, the "La De Dee" singer also expressed his belied in marriage though he stressed that he hasn't "thought too much about that." He added, "I am far too young to consider it, to be honest. I just continue to surround myself with positive women who inspire me and teach me new things every day."
