The 'Orange is the New Black' actress, who opens up about her eating disorder in new book 'You and I, as Mothers', admits she doesn't know how much time she has left with her mother.

AceShowbiz - Laura Prepon has given up blaming her mother for her teenage bulimia battle, because she wants to spend quality time with her as she battles Alzheimer's disease.

The "Orange Is the New Black" star is sharing her thoughts on motherhood and life in general in her new book, "You & I, as Mothers", in which she opens up about an eating disorder, which her mum encouraged.

"My mother taught me bulimia," Prepon told People in a recent interview. "It started when I was 15 and lasted until my late 20s."

Prepon explains the problem started when a modelling agency boss told her to lose 25 pounds (11.3 kilograms).

"My mom started weighing me every morning and taking my measurements," the actress said.

"I always thought of myself as this strong, confident woman, but it became a compulsion that would completely debilitate me."

Laura understands her mother was trying to "help her" but she doesn't plan to follow her examples.

However, Prepon doesn't want to dwell on her mum's mistakes after learning she's battling memory-robbing Alzheimer's.

"I don't want to be angry with her, especially now, because I don't know how much time we have left," the star added. "I want those moments when she is present to be good."

The actress recently became a mum for a second time after welcoming her first child, daughter Ella, in 2017 with actor husband Ben Foster.
