AceShowbiz - Solange Knowles broke her silence hot on heel of rumors suggesting that she's dating Common. The "Sol-Angel" singer insisted the romance reports were not true.
They were reported to hook up after the rapper attended Lena Horne Prize for Artists Creating Social Impact Event at Town Hall, New York where Solange was lauded for her "excellence at the intersection of arts and activism." They didn't pose together on the red carpet, but rumor claimed he was there as her date.
Without mentioning the dating rumors, she posted a "Why the f**k you lyin" meme on her story. Her camp later issued a statement directly addressing the internet chatters, "Solange and Common are not seeing each other. Both artists attended the Lena Horne Prize event simply to honor Lena Horne's legacy."
Solange was the first-ever recipient for the Lena Horne Prize. The 33-year-old singer/songwriter was "beyond humble" to receive the honor. She received $100,000 and would use it for Project Row Houses.
Solange Knowles just came out of her second marriage. She and husband Alan Ferguson called it quits in 2019 after 5 years of marriage. They have no children together, but she has a teenage son with her first husband Daniel Smith.
Common is also single. He split from girlfriend Angela Rye in 2019 after an on-and-off relationship. "We just want different things," she said. "I'm leaning towards 'I want kids' and he was leaning towards 'I don't know.' I think when somebody tells you I don't know, they just tell you that because they don't really want to hurt you."
Following their split, he was linked to Quad Webb and Tiffany Haddish. Before Christmas, he was spotted on a holiday with Tiffany in Maui, Hawaii.
