The 'Everything I Wanted' singer tells people to stop go out pretending to be her for clout, 'not only because it's rude, but potentially dangerous too.'

AceShowbiz - Billie Eilish's meteoric rise to fame has prompted numerous people to gain some clout by impersonating her. There are a number of videos posted on YouTube featuring people dressing as her in public and the real star has caught wind of these.

Sharing the evidence, the "Bad Guy" hitmaker has posted on Instagram Stories a screenshot of videos with titles like, "Turned My Girl Into Billie Eilish-Got Mobbed/Shut Down Mall" and "I Pretended to Be Billie Eilish *GONE WRONG*."

Turns out people's experience to meet the impersonators was not all good as one described the 18-year-old star as "SO RUDE" during their encounter at the mall.

She reasoned, "It is not safe for you and it is mean to people who don't know any better... you make me look bad." Pointing out one particular impersonator who wore drab-looking gray socks, the Grammy Award-winning artist wrote, "Also soooo disrespectful that you'd go out pretending to be me wearing this," with a laughing emoji.

Jordan Matter, who uploaded the video Billie has taken issue with, has since complied with the singer's request by removing the footage and other content related to it. Taking to his Instagram page, he addressed the controversial video while posting a picture of a Billie impersonator being tossed in the air.

"Hello everyone. You've been commenting on the video shoot I did yesterday, and I'd like to respond," he wrote in the caption. "I gathered a crowd and had Billie do a huge cheer flip and then revealed it's not Billie." Noting that he's "a big fan, like everyone else," the photographer said, "I had absolutely no intention of disrespecting Billie."

"I've never done a celebrity impersonation video before, but they're pretty common so I thought it would be fun to add my own acrobatic twist. I felt it was completely harmless since at no time in the video are we pretending that she is actually Billie," he explained the stunt captured in the photo. "I have reached out directly to Billie and Maggie and apologized, and I will not post the video without their permission. I hope this clarifies everything."

One person criticized Jordan for posting the photo despite saying that he regretted filming the stunt, "You say this apology and say your not gonna post videos yet here is a photo?!?!? Sorrrry what? How contradicting." To this comment, Jordan responded, "I am posting the photo to show everyone what we were doing. Once again, I'm not pretending this is Bille. That was not the intention."

Billie's mother Maggie has also warned people to this kind of impostor, writing on Instagram, "Please never fall for billie seeking attention. She never will!!"
