Second 'West Side Story' Actor Sidelined by Injury After Onstage Fall

Ben Cook has to be replaced by newcomer Dharon E. Jones on the Broadway production which opening night was pushed back to late February after leading man Isaac Powell injured his knee.

AceShowbiz - Another actor in the Broadway production of "West Side Story" has been injured after suffering an onstage fall.

Ben Cook, who plays Jets gang leader Riff in the musical show, is being replaced by Broadway newcomer Dharon E. Jones after he was injured during a recent preview performance.

According to the New York Post's Page Six, Cook suffered a fall onstage which has put him out of action.

The news comes after the musical's opening night was pushed back to 20 February, after leading man Isaac Powell seriously injured his knee while performing as Tony.

Director Ivo van Hove's musical had previously been set to open in New York on 6 February.
