AceShowbiz - Rapper YG expresses his regret over his past attitude towards LGBTQ community. The "Stay Dangerous" took to his Twotter account on Wednesday, January 1 to sincerely apologize to the community for his ignorance.
"it's been brought to my attention that my old views on life was ignorant," so he wrote on the micro-blogging site. "i apologize to the LGBTQ kommunity for ever komin across like i was anything but respectful and accepting. Live. Love. Ya Life. Gang!"
He went on adding in a separate tweet, "Stay solid, Never fold!"
As it was so kind of him to apologize, many praised YG for it. One fan gushed, "We love a man who knows he's wrong . That’s why that’s my man." A fan also believed that YG has changed for the better, saying, "honestly yes. people cannot hold grudges against him... people do change, peoples views do change. experiences in life alter perspective."
However, his action was not entirely appreciated by some of Internet users. Alluding that he didn't really mean his words and apologized only because he's dating Kehlani who is openly bisexual. "He only saying that to appease to kehlani," said the person. Echoing the sentiment, another fan wrote, "I guess since his girl is LGBQTEFGWXYZ."
"who brought it to his attention & why couldn't he see it hisself? this is NOT an apology," one other commented. "Kehlani playing on his phone," one other added, with someone else writing, "He's not sorry he just doesn't want any backlash!!"
Meanwhile, some others were trolling YG for his spelling. "I would respect him more if he’d go back to school," one shared. " 'kommunity' took me out," another one said, with a person commenting, "Maybe Spelling correctly would be more sincere."
