Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has issued a statement ruling out foul play in the death of the 28-year-old former Kara member who was found unresponsive on November 24.

AceShowbiz - South Korean police have ruled out foul play in the death of K-pop star Goo Hara, after finding a "handwritten note" in the late star's apartment.

The singer and actress was discovered in her apartment in Seoul, South Korea at around 6 P.M. local time on Sunday, November 24, various Korean media outlets confirmed. She was 28 years old.

On Monday, commissioner Lee Yong Pyo of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency confirmed that they are not investigating a crime in relation to the former Kara member's passing, saying in a statement, "Yesterday, around 6 P.M., Goo Hara's housekeeper discovered her. Based on an on-site inspection and testimony from her family, there are no suspicions of a crime."

"Based on the analysis of CCTV footage, we have confirmed that she returned home on November 24 at approximately 12:35 A.M., so it is presumed that she passed away after that time."

Explaining the housekeeper visited the property after "attempting to contact Goo Hara and receiving no response," he added, "There was a handwritten note found on a table in her living room. There is nothing we can reveal about the contents of the note."

The decision as to whether an autopsy should be carried out has yet to be made.

Hara's shock death comes after she apologised to her fans earlier this year for causing a "commotion," after she was discovered unconscious following a suicide attempt in her apartment in the South Korean capital just after midnight on May 30.

She was close friends with fellow K-pop star Sulli, who died by suicide last month.
