Before the winners are revealed in the awards-giving event, celebrities hit the red carpet to showcase a multitude of attention-grabbing looks. Among those who successfully turned heads that night were host Ciara, Lizzo and Taylor Swift.
Ciara looked sensational in an oversized electrifying blue blazer from Balmain's SS20 Ready-to-Wear collection which she paired with matching bell-bottoms. The "I Bet" singer opted to go braless underneath the number and only relied to a huge necklace to cover her chest. As for her hair, the 34-year-old styled it in a gorgeous wave.
Lizzo, meanwhile, brought humor to the party as she arrived with an incredibly tiny purse. The "Juice" singer hit the red carpet while rocking a ruffled, orange minidress. Of her very miniature purse, Lizzo bragged, "It's a Valentino bag. There's only three in the world."

Rocking a bob hair, the 27-year-old looked gorgeous in the tight-fitted dress as she walked the 47th American Music Awards. Also bringing her high fashion to the red carpet was Maya Thurman Hawke. The "Stranger Things" actress offered a gothic look in Christian Dior FW19 Couture featuring a sparkling and sheer black corseted dress and a headpiece.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift donned a glittery asymmetrical green dress to the event. As her for her londe lock, the "Lover" singer wore her hair half-up, half-down and walked the carpet solo.
The 47th American Music Awards is currently underway at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. Selena was tapped as the opener at the event which will also feature performances from Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes among others.
