The 'Jumanji: The Next Level' star receives thunderous applause from the audience when he shows up onstage at the People's Choice Awards to collect a trophy for Comedy Act of 2019.

AceShowbiz - Kevin Hart has slowly returned into the spotlight after he got sidelined for two months due to a nearly-fatal car accident. The "Ride Along" star made his first official public appearance since the unfortunate incident at the 2019 People's Choice Awards on Sunday, November 10.

The 40-year-old actor/comedian showed up at the event to collect an award for Comedy Act of 2019, which was presented by Robert Downey Jr. The audience, which included celebrities like Terry Crews, Kelsea Ballerini and David Spade, welcomed him with a standing ovation as he walked on the stage.

Upon reaching the mic, Kevin greeted the "Iron Man" star, saying he's a fan of the Golden Globe-winning actor, before he addressed the crowd and his fans at home. "First and foremost, thank God because I definitely don't have to be here," he opened his speech.

Referencing his car crash, he said, "Being that I am, it makes me appreciate life even more. It makes me appreciate the things that really matter. Family. I want to thank my wife and kids, who really stepped up to the plate for me."

The "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" star also thanked his fans for their continuous support, "You have no idea the effect you have on us as entertainers your energy, your support. It means the world and I truly want to thank you guys for being there for me in my difficult time."

Kevin suffered a major back injury when his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda flipped on a canyon road near Calabasas, California on September 1. He was sitting in the passenger seat while his friend Jared Black was behind the wheels. Jared was also hospitalized with severe injuries, while Jared's fiancee Rebecca Broxterman, who sat in the backseat, suffered "minor" injuries.

Kevin underwent a surgery to fix his fractured spine and was released from the hospital ten days after the car crash. He has been laying low since the accident while still in recovery and receiving physical therapy.
