The 'Smash' actress will make a return to the famed New York theater district as the musical's lead character Jenna Hunterson from November 25 to January 5.

AceShowbiz - Singer/actress Katharine McPhee is returning to Broadway for one last shift in hit musical "Waitress".

The "Smash" star made her debut on the "Great White Way" last year (2018), when she hit the stage in the lead role of Jenna Hunterson.

She reprised the role for its West End run earlier this year (2019), and now McPhee is preparing to head back to the famed New York theatre district as Jenna for "Waitres"' final weeks.

She will lead the cast at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre from November 25 until the curtain comes down for the final time on January 5, reports People.com.

McPhee will take over the part from Jordin Sparks, who is currently starring in the Sara Bareilles musical.

Jessie Mueller originated the role when the show first opened on Broadway in 2016, while singer/songwriter Bareilles, Betsy Wolfe, Nicolette Robinson and Shoshana Bean have also portrayed the character onstage over the years.
