AceShowbiz - Earlier this month, YG and Kehlani confirmed that they're indeed an item on an Instagram post after being rumored dating. However, a new report suggests that the two musicians are just staging their romance for clout.
A top music industry insider claims to MTO News that their relationship is "completely made up for PR [public relations]." Additionally, the source goes on saying, "YG and Kehlani are together for press."
As for the reason, the insider explains that it has something to do with Kehlani's music career and her sexuality. "Kehlani's music [sales] took a big hit when she came out as LGBT. She's trying to change all that by faking a relationship with YG," the informant notes.
Of the singer-songwriter who came out as "queer" in 2017, the source says, "I think Kehlani is a straight lesbian." The informant adds, "That won't work for her fans, so she's in a 'relationship' with YG," noting that the "Gangsta" singer's popularity went extremely down after she posted pictures of her then-girlfriend Shaina Negron back in 2017.
Meanwhile, the insider says that YG is still pretty much together with his baby mama. "YG is still with his baby's mother. The two just had a baby this summer. He didn't go anywhere," claims the source.
On September 5, Kehlani took to her Instagram account to officially go public with her new beau. She shared several photos of her looking coupled-up with the "Go Loko" rapper. Taken from when they attended the Kith show during New York Fashion Week, one of the pictures saw YG wrapping his arms around his new lady.
Another snap featured the "Good Life" songstress, who looked chic in a plunging navy blue blazer dress, cupping her beau's cheeks while laughing. In the last pic, meanwhile, the new lovebirds were seen sharing an embrace. "cats out the bag," so Kehlani wrote in the caption, adding a kissy face emoji.
The couple sparked romance rumors after they were spotted together just recently. However, some people sounded off about their romance given that both of them had just welcomed their own child with other people. Back in July, YG welcomed a second baby girl named Vibe Jackson with Catelyn Sparks, who is also the baby mama of his 3-year-old daughter Harmony.
