AceShowbiz - Bill Cosby has been hit with a $2.75 million (£2.2 million) legal bill as he marks the end of his first year's incarceration for sexual assault.
The 82-year-old, who is being held in a prison in Pennsylvania, challenged a California arbitration award that left him with a $9 million (£7.27 million) bill submitted by just one law firm in the run-up to his first, inconclusive,trial in 2017.
According to the Associated Press, Cosby's initial $9 million bill from Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, was brought down to $6.7 million (£5.3 million) in a ruling last Friday, September 20.
Cosby has already paid $2 million (£1.62 million) and his insurer, AIG, has paid $2.3 million (£1.86 million). However, a judge upheld the decision to demand the remainder of the bill, which comes to $2.75 million (£2.2 million) rejecting the shamed TV star's claim it is "egregious".
"The Cosby Show" star was found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault at a second trial in 2018 and is currently serving out his three-to-10-year sentence at a maximum security prison just outside Philadelphia.
His spokesman Andrew Wyatt claimed the star "looks amazing" and is popular as a mentor to other inmates.
