Soon after the New York Senator announced the end of her run, the former 'Nashville' star turns to Twitter to thank the Democratic politician for 'working valiantly and intentionally.'

AceShowbiz - Connie Britton has praised her friend Kirsten Gillibrand's "bravery and integrity", after the New York Senator announced she's dropping out of the 2020 U.S. presidential race.

The 52-year-old politician announced her withdrawal from the race in a post on Twitter on Wednesday, August 28, writing: "Today, I am ending my campaign for president. I am so proud of this team and all we've accomplished. But I think it's important to know how you can best serve. To our supporters: Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Now, let's go beat Donald Trump and win back the Senate."

She also shared a video announcement of the news.

Following her post, former "Nashville" star Connie, 52, tweeted her response, praising her friend as she wrote: "To my friend @SenGillibrand I want to say: thank you. You worked valiantly and intentionally, speaking so much truth to how we need to proceed as a nation. You have elevated the conversation, served with integrity, and will continue to. Bravely... with thanks and admiration."

Connie Britton sent support to Kirsten Gillibrand.

Gillibrand had been one of the potential Democratic nominees for the presidential race, but said failing to qualify for a third debate next month had been fatal to her campaign.

She's now considering which of her peers to back in the primary, and would also consider taking on a different role if a Democrat makes it into the White House next year.

"I would absolutely consider anything that was asked of me, because my goal is to serve," she told the New York Times. "(But for now) I'm going to do everything I can to make sure our nominee defeats Trump."
