AceShowbiz - Sources close to The Weeknd and supermodel Bella Hadid are playing down reports suggesting the couple has split again, insisting the stars are trying to work things out.
Contacts told E! News on Tuesday (August 06) that the singer and the 22-year-old American beauty had decided to call it quits after failing to find time for each other.
"They are in different places right now, physically and mentally," one insider told the outlet. "Bella is prepping for her fashion week commitments and Abel (The Weeknd) is working on his music and his upcoming acting debut."
"They hope to get back together at one point but for now are focusing on themselves and their projects."
But a representative for the singer tells Entertainment Tonight the pair is still very much an item.
"They are working through things like normal couples do," the insider explains. "They travel a lot, work a lot and that often creates tension. However, they love one another, have lost one another in the past and want to try and make it work. Right now they are together and working on keeping it that way."
The couple started dating in 2015 after meeting at the Coachella festival in California but split later that year before reuniting months later.
They split again in late 2016 but were back together last summer (18) after The Weeknd's romance with Selena Gomez fizzled out.
Meanwhile, Bella's sister Gigi Hadid is also moving on after a serious relationship - she is reportedly dating "The Bachelorette" star Tyler Cameron after splitting from Zayn Malik.
