Music

The band, which also features former Grateful Dead members Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir, has followed the lead set by departed headliners Jay-Z and John Fogerty.

AceShowbiz - John Mayer's band Dead & Company have become the latest act to pull out of the Woodstock anniversary festival.

The band, also featuring former Grateful Dead stars Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir, was billied as one of the headliners of the big gig to be held over the same weekend as the original Woodstock in 1969.

Fellow headliner Jay-Z and John Fogerty have also pulled out of the event, while The Black Keys wiped their name off the line-up earlier this year (April 2019) as festival bosses started experiencing financial problems.

The event has since been denied two permits in New York and earlier this week (beg July 22), organisers moved the event to Maryland, while chief promoter Michael Lang informed the agents of all the acts scheduled to perform that they would not try to enforce contracts for the festival.

Other artists still scheduled for the Woodstock 50 event include Santana, David Crosby, Janelle Monae, and Halsey.

The event will take place next month (August 2019) at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbus.
