AceShowbiz - Actor Brandon Routh will be putting on the Superman suit again for an upcoming TV special.
The star, who played the Man of Steel in 2006's "Superman Returns", is returning as Clark Kent and his alter ego in cable network The CW's Arrowverse annual crossover event, which brings together all the DC Comics superheroes.
Tyler Hoechlin, who portrays Superman in current TV series "Supergirl", is also suiting up as the character for the television special, alongside Routh, who will portray an older Man of Steel.
Routh will also play his "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" persona Ray Palmer, aka The Atom, in the five-episode crossover special, titled "Crisis on Infinite Earths", which boasts other superhero appearances by Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Batwoman.
Confirming his Superman return at Comic-Con in San Diego, California on Friday, July 19, Routh told fans, "I am very grateful to have the opportunity to play four characters in the crossover. Coming back to play Superman and Clark, alongside Tyler, who's done a fantastic job on Supergirl, to have two Superman on screen at the same time I think will be a lot of fun. And also, (we'll) have Atom and Ray Palmer around for some fun, too."
"I'm working on getting back into Superman (shape). You gotta be prepared for the photoshoot that might happen, and also to feel like the guy, inside."
