AceShowbiz - "Smallville" star Tom Welling is suiting up as Superman again for the upcoming TV comic book series "Crisis on Infinite Earths".
The actor portrayed Clark Kent for 10 seasons on "Smallville" before the show concluded its run in 2011 and now he is set to reprise the iconic role in the Arrowverse crossover, which will debut in December.
"For eight years, "Arrow" has stood on the shoulders of "Smallville". Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it," the show's executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement. "So when we first started talking about "Crisis on Infinite Earths", our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we're thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement".
The production will combine the shows "Arrow", "The Flash", "Supergirl", "DC's Legends of Tomorrow", and "Batwoman".
The small screen venture will also include additional actors portraying Superman, including Tyler Hoechlin, who took on the role for Arrowverse's Superman, and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" star Brandon Routh, who also played the character in 2006 film "Superman Returns".
