AceShowbiz - Stefflon Don's joke is backfiring at her. The British rapper found herself landing in hot water after she angered people with her inflammatory remarks about the Black Lives Matter movement.
The rapper took to her Instagram account to share a video of her staging her arrest at the hands of a while police officer. "Bloodclaat mi a get locked up Black Lives Matter," she wrote in the caption, adding a laughing face emoji in the end. The post was intended to promote her Lil Baby-assisted single "Phone Down."
Fans, however, weren't thrilled with the post, and asked the musician to change the caption considering it was Juneteenth. "Child if this is a joke you picked the worst timing! I know you're from overseas but here in America it's JUNETEENTH," an angry fan wrote in the comment section.
Instead of apologizing and backing down, Stefflon clapped back at the backlash. "Tell America yall need a new President," she wrote back in a since-deleted comment. She went on saying in a separate post, "Get your sensitive a** out of my comments plz about Black Lives ain't no joke who da fuq said it was? And if you aint physically done nothing about it then definitely don't say nothing because you don't really care you think typing on insta will solve your problems lol."
"Educate your self. By the way slavery aint no joke either but you still tune in to watch the movie that makes the same white man who enslaved you money and you applaud it and they get rewarded for it now go underneath the real enemies comments not mine," she continued.
Twitterverse wasn't having it and launched cancel party for the raptress. "Can somebody please tell Stefflon Don that joking about being arrested & hollering black lives matter is not appropriate. Does she live under a rock? Did we not just witness Phoenix PD & Hawthorne PD act up?" one user wrote.
"Stefflon Don is an extremely ignorant and vapid woman. The African Giant’s Wife you know. You hate to see it," another person blasted Stefflon. Meanwhile, another comment, read, "Where is Stefflon Don even from? The UK or sumn? Is Black Lives Matter even a thing over there? Shorty look dumb right about now."
