AceShowbiz - Starting to get addicted to drugs as a teenager, Russell Brand has now been in recovery for about 15 years and has become very open about breaking the grip addiction had on his life. He even released a book called "Recovery: Freedom From Our Addictions", which was a tribute to the traditional Alcoholics Anonymous-based 12-step program that helped his recovery.
Talking about the book in an interview, Russell said, "I have written this book about how I dealt with my addiction and continue to deal with it. The idea is that it uses different language to describe the processes around abstinence-based recover. Staying clean one day at a time. It puts it in plain language." Besides releasing a book, Russell also got candid about his journey to recovery through a podcast series and a Netflix special titled "Re:Birth".
