AceShowbiz - Scarlett Johansson has apparently begun filming "Black Widow" in Norway. This news is based on the actress' recent sighting during which she rocked the character's signature red hair when she was spotted on the island of Vigra in the village of Saebo.
Johansson had her hair styled in half updo as she sported a civilian outfit, which consisted of a white jacket and black pants. Aside from her red hair, nothing she wore seemed to attribute to her Marvel role, but she seemed to be joined by the film's crew members as she headed into a convenience store and came out with a grocery bag. She was also spotted arriving in the town on a ferry.
Previously, vehicles boasting signs reading "Blue Bayou", which is reportedly the working title of the Black Widow movie, were spotted around the village. The island is believed to serve as the background for Black Widow's childhood.
Considering the character's fate in "Avengers: Endgame", it is widely believed that "Black Widow" would be a prequel. However, it's now said that the upcoming movie could be set between events in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Endgame".
"Black Widow" will focus on Johansson's Natasha Romanoff, a Russian spy and assassin who later defects to the United States and becomes an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Avenger. Cate Shortland is on board as director, with the script provided by Jac Schaeffer ("The Hustle"). Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz and David Harbour have been reported to join the cast. Disney reportedly eyes a 2020 release for the solo movie.
The studio has been keeping the project under wraps. Despite reports that she scored a $15 million payday to reprise the role, the actress has been coy when asked if she would return for a Black Widow movie.
