The late rapper's family wants custody of his 10-year-old daughter Emani Asghedom because they think that her mother Tanisha Foster is too unstable due to her history of arrests and drug issue.

AceShowbiz - Nipsey Hussle's family isn't trying to separate his daughter Emani Asghedom from her mother Tanisha Foster as the latter is fighting to regain custody of her daughter. The late rapper's sister Samantha Smith was recently given custody of the 10-year-old girl following the death of the hip-hop star, whose real name was Ermias Joseph Asghedom.

Sources tell TMZ that Nipsey's family wants custody of Emani solely for the sake of the young girl. They think that Tanisha is too unstable considering her history of arrests and drug issue. She had a warrant out for her arrest related to a 2017 DUI case. She also has violated probation multiple times in the past year, and she has other arrests dating back to 2006.

Nipsey's family, however, wants to help get her life in order, and reportedly has even offered to help Tanisha enroll in substance abuse programs, but she refused. The family is now trying to arrange for visitation between Emani and Tanisha.

Tanisha previously accused Samantha of taking her daughter "unlawfully" and refusing to give her back. She broke down in tears when leaving court after the judge officially gave the custody of Emani to Nipsey's sister Samantha on May 20. She told reporters that she was "pissed off." She claimed she hadn't seen her daughter in months.

Tanisha returned to court on May 23 for a bench warrant hearing after missing a legal date earlier this month. During the hearing, the judge recalled the bench warrant but the court is still moving to revoke her probation for a 2017 DUI, because she hasn't completed the program she was set. She has been ordered to re-enroll in her DUI class, sign up for Mothers Against Drunk Driving courses and attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Nipsey had another child, son Kross, with girlfriend Lauren London. He died without a will and his two children will reportedly receive equal share of his $2 million estate. Tanisha believes when Emani gets the $1 million, she can use some of it for living expenses and provide a stable, safe environment for her child, but Nipsey's family doesn't think so.
