The Grammy-winning singer and the entrepreneur-philanthropist, who have been private about their romance, say that they are 'committed' to co-parenting their son, Angelo, together.

AceShowbiz - Adele and husband Simon Konecki have announced their separation. The two split after being together for more than 7 years.

The singer's representatives Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh said in a statement on Friday evening, April 19, "Adele and her partner have separated." They added that the Grammy-winning singer and Konecki are "committed to raising their son together lovingly."

"As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment," the statement continued.

Adele and the entrepreneur-philanthropist have been private about their romance. The 30-year-old "Hello" hitmaker and the 44-year-old first addressed their relationship in a blog post in January 2012, the same month they were spotted on an airboat ride in the Everglades.

Later in June of that year, the singer announced that they were expecting a baby, a son named Angelo, whom they welcomed on October 19. The then-couple had opted for a quiet life as they spent time between her native London and Beverly Hills, where they bought a home in 2016.

"The reason her relationship works with Simon is because they are on the same page," a source told PEOPLE at the time. "Their priority is their son, and Adele loves being a mother. Angelo is a very happy little boy."

The "Someone Like You" songstress later sparked rumors that she and Konecki had tied the knot back in January as she was snapped with a ring on her left ring finger.

She went on fueling the speculation during her award acceptance speech at the Grammys when she was announced as the winner of Album of the Year for her hit album "25". "Grammys, I appreciate it, the Academy, I love you, my manager, my husband and my son -- you're the only reason I do it," she said.

Adele finally confirmed their marriage in March 2017 at a concert in Brisbane. She told the crowd, "I'm married now."
