AceShowbiz - New York police have arrested a man on suspicion of attacking wrestling icon Bret "The Hitman" Hart (Bret Hart) during the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday, April 06.

The 61-year-old star was honouring his former tag team partner and brother-in-law, Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart (Jim Neidhart), onstage at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn when he was tackled by a member of the audience.

He was promptly taken down by a group of celebrity onlookers, including Xavier Woods, Tyson Kidd, and UFC star Travis Browne, who is married to fighter-turned-actress Ronda Rousey, and was held down by security guards until cops arrived to take the man into custody.

The suspect has since been identified as 26-year-old Zachary Madsen, who is facing a string of charges, including third-degree assault and criminal trespass.

Hart was able to continue his speech once the man was hauled away in handcuffs.

The Hall of Fame event was held on the eve of Wrestlemania, which takes place in New Jersey on Sunday night, April 07.
