Besides talking about her 14-year-old son, the mother of eight opens up about her upcoming reality show 'Kate Plus 8', which will document her journey to find love again.

AceShowbiz - Kate Gosselin assures that she is close with all of her children, including her 14-year-old son Collin. Following his husband Jon Gosselin's claim which stated that her ex-wife had "zero" contact with the boy, Kate debunked the accusation during her appearance at the 2019 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour on Tuesday, February 12.

The mother of eight was joined by her twin daughters, Madelyn and Cara, at the time. When asked whether the three of them are still close with Collin, Kate answered, "Yes, we are close with all of the kids, their brothers and sisters."

Collin is one of the sextuplets that Kate shares with Jon. Unlike their other children, the boy had been in a facility for special needs children, but now lives with his father and sister Hannah in Pennsylvania. Jon won the custody of him in December 2018.

Besides talking about Collin during their appearance, the three discussed their upcoming reality show, "Kate Plus 8", which will document her dates that have been set up by matchmakers. "They were strictly blind dates, but I didn't even know, really their names, until minutes before," she said. "A lot of the awkwardness, uncomfortable terrified reactions came from the fact that they were hit or miss. It's a very difficult concept, and this is a very real show in that I am really looking for someone."

Kate added that there wouldn't be any kissing scene so that her children would not feel "cringe-y or uncomfortable" while watching the show. "I'm not a teenager, clearly. There's no other mom dating show out there; I have five daughters and three sons, and they need to be able to watch a respectful ...G-rated show," she said. "And it's important for me to be an example to my kids."

Both Madelyn and Cara, who will also be featured on the show, were supportive of their mother's decision to date again. "We've been nudging her to date for years. We're all, all eight of us, are so glad that she finally is," Madelyn explained. "She deserves to be happy. Everyone deserves to be happy."
