The 'Twin Peaks' actor finds himself in trouble with the law after he got pulled over in Burbank, Los Angeles due to a missing front number plate and expired registration tags.

AceShowbiz - Tom Sizemore could spend up to a year in jail after reportedly being charged with drug possession.

According to editors at TMZ, the troubled actor - who has had roles in "Heat", "Saving Private Ryan", and the recent reboot of "Twin Peaks" - was charged by the Burbank City Attorney with two counts of possession of heroin, and two counts of possession of medication without a prescription, following his arrest in Burbank, Los Angeles, earlier this month (January 2019).

The 57-year-old's vehicle was missing a front number plate and had expired registration tags, according to TMZ.com. During the stop, officers searched Sizemore's Mercedes and found drugs - believed to be meth and heroin - in the car.

All four charges are misdemeanours, so the actor won't go to prison if convicted. However, he's facing incarceration in jail, designed to hold inmates awaiting trial or serving a short sentence, for up to a year. In addition to being locked up he could also be subject to a $1,000 (£778) fine.

Police officers arrested the actor, along with a male passenger, but both men posted bail and were released later the same day.

A rep for Sizemore has yet to comment.
