Tom Sizemore's Twins 'Devastated' After Actor Dies 'Peacefully'

A representative for the actor confirms the 'Saving Private Ryan' star passed away in his sleep on Friday, March 3 following hospitalization due to a brain aneurysm.

AceShowbiz - Tom Sizemore is dead following his hospitalization due to a brain aneurysm. On Friday, March 3, his manager confirmed the actor passed away "peacefully" in his sleep with his loved ones by his side. He was 61 years old.

"It is with great sadness and sorrow I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore ('Tom Sizemore') aged 61 passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph's Hospital Burbank," the manager, Charles Lago, said in a statement.

Charles said Tom's brother Paul Sizemore and his twin boys Jayden and Jagger, 17, were at his side. He added that for Tom, "the past couple of years were great for him and he was getting his life back to a great place."

The manager additionally revealed there are plans for a private cremation service for the family with a larger celebration of life event in a few weeks.

Tom's brother Paul has also spoken up in the wake of his brother's passing. He said in a statement that he was "deeply saddened by the loss of my big brother Tom." He went on raving about the late actor, "He was larger than life. He has influenced my life more than anyone I know. He was talented, loving, giving and could keep you entertained endlessly with his wit and storytelling ability. I am devastated he is gone and will miss him always."

Tom was found unconscious at his house in Los Angeles around 2 A.M. local time on Saturday, February 18. 911 was quickly called and paramedics rushed him into an Intensive Care Unit in Los Angeles. He was hospitalized in critical condition, in a coma and never regained consciousness.

Earlier this week, his manager gave an update, saying that Tom's family was mulling over "end of life matters" as doctors advised "there is no further hope." Charles stated on Monday, February 27, "Today, doctors informed his family that there is no further hope and have recommended end of life decision. The family is now deciding end of life matters and a further statement will be issued on Wednesday."

He further said on behalf of Tom's family, "We are asking for privacy for his family during this difficult time and they wish to thank everyone for the hundreds of messages of support, and prayers that have been received. This has been a difficult time for them."

Tom is probably best known for playing Sergeant Mike Harvath in "Saving Private Ryan" in 1999. Throughout his career, he has also appeared in popular films like "Heat", "Natural Born Killers", "Pearl Harbor" and "Black Hawk Down".
