AceShowbiz - Wells Adams finds it weird to be engaged to Sarah Hyland shortly after they moved in together. The former contestant on "The Bachelorette" recently opened up in an interview why he and the "Modern Family" star are not in a hurry to get married.
"I think we're pretty comfortable in where we are right now," the 34-year-old TV personality confessed to HollywoodLife. "I think that we would both feel weird if we were engaged already, like this early into us moving in with one another."
"So, I understand the optics of it," the radio DJ further stated. "Like we do post insanely cute pictures all the time and people think that's the obvious next step but... and which it is, but I think that we're both pretty realistic about the evolution of our relationship and wanting to continue to grow it that way before jumping in to like an early engagement."
While he admitted that Hyland is "the one" for him, Adams will still think twice before jumping into marriage wagon. Fearing nasty consequences if they make the decision too soon, he pointed out, "There's been a lot of bad examples of that lately."
As for how to keep a successful relationship, the co-host of "Pratt Cast" podcast shared, "I think that you need to have a come to Jesus moment with yourself if you really want to be in a relationship." He added, "I think the problem that a lot of people get into, is they think that that's what they're supposed to do, but they're not really emotionally ready."
Adams and Hyland dated long-distance for about a year before they moved in together in August 2018. Speaking about the progress in the relationship, he gushed in an episode of his "Your Favorite Thing" podcast, "I'm not concerned about us living together or us getting along or whatever. I'm most concerned about my dogs and her dogs."
