To also be presented with the special award from the Recording Academy are the likes of Dionne Warwick, Julio Iglesias as well as Sam and Dave among others.

AceShowbiz - Black Sabbath, George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, and Dionne Warwick will be honoured with Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Awards next year (2019).
The musicians will be feted alongside Billy Eckstine, Donny Hathaway, Julio Iglesias and Sam & Dave at a Los Angeles gala and concert event on May 11, 2019.
Lou Adler, Ashford & Simpson, and Johnny Mandel have also been named honourees of the Trustees Award.
"Each year, the Recording Academy has the distinct privilege of celebrating music industry giants who have greatly contributed to our cultural heritage," Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the Recording Academy, says. "This year, we have a gifted and brilliant group of honourees and their exceptional accomplishments, contributions, and artistry will continue to influence and inspire generations to come."

All of the recipients of the Special Merit Awards will officially be saluted at the Grammy Awards on February 10.
Tina Turner, Queen, Neil Diamond and Emmylou Harris were among the musicians feted for 2018.
