Against the backdrop of Ozzy Osbourne's health struggles, a glimmer of hope shines for Black Sabbath fans as the legendary heavy metal band may reunite for one final, poignant performance.

AceShowbiz - Black Sabbath officially hung up their instruments in 2017, concluding their aptly-titled "The End Tour.". Nevertheless, lead vocalist Ozzy Osbourne has not ruled out one last hurrah with the band. Osbourne has expressed his desire for a final show, not just with the recent lineup including guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Tommy Clufetos, but with the original quartet. This would mean the inclusion of co-founding drummer Bill Ward, who was notably absent from their last reunion.

Bill Ward's absence from the 2012 reunion tour came after he refused to participate without what he termed a "signable contract that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band." This decision has been a source of regret for Osbourne, who recently stated that the "arc of the legend of Black Sabbath" feels "unfinished" without Ward.

In May, Osbourne conveyed his vision of what that final show could look like on "The Madhouse Chronicles" podcast, "If I wanted to do one more gig with Bill, I'd jump at the chance. You know what would be cool? If we just went to a club somewhere unannounced and just got up and did it out. We started up in a club."

This sentiment was echoed by Geezer Butler in a recent interview on the Lifeminute YouTube channel, where he noted that Osbourne "still wants to do" a farewell concert and hopes the original Black Sabbath members can "get up on stage and maybe do three or four songs together."

The question remains, however, whether Tony Iommi and Bill Ward are up for it. Iommi has previously cited that Black Sabbath had to turn down a potential reunion at the Power Trip festival due to health-related reasons but did not entirely dismiss the prospect of a final show. Bill Ward has similarly left the door open, saying, "I'm in for playing some of everyone's old favorites. Loved playing them then, I'd love to play them one last time." While he did not discuss his health in detail, he mentioned that he remains "active musically every day."

Despite the physical setbacks that have sidelined him from touring, Osbourne remains undeterred. His wife Sharon Osbourne has confirmed that Ozzy intends to perform two more shows in his hometown of Birmingham, England, to "say goodbye." Although specific dates or details are yet to be confirmed, this potential final show stands as a beacon of hope and excitement for Black Sabbath fans around the world.

If realized, this reunion would not only honor the monumental legacy of Black Sabbath but also provide a beautiful, albeit bittersweet, closure to fans and band members alike.
