People deem her kissing her baby Kavia James on the mouth problematic instead of an affectionate one.

AceShowbiz - New mom Gabrielle Union is the latest victim of online mom-shaming. The "Bring It On" actress recently shared on Instagram a sweet video of her and her firstborn baby Kavia James on her lips multiple times. People, however, deemed the gesture problematic instead of an affectionate one.

"Kissing Game. She's got my (heart emoji) on a string," so the actress captioned the video.

Some people took issue on her kissing her baby on the mouth, though. "Ahhhh didn't anyone tell you you shouldn't kiss a baby in the mouth. Even your own. She's beautiful though," a fan scolded Gabrielle in her comment section. Similarly, another user added, "She's gorgeous, but no kissing babies on the mouth."

One other noted that the baby seemed struggling. "She is breathing very very hard. The pull is showing," a fan wrote. "Signs we are taught by doctor to look for asthmatic children. Please take a look at this @gabunion. Adorable just be safe."

Gabrielle then quickly responded, "Hey guys I appreciate all the concern about kisses on the mouth and labored breathing, I am blessed enough to have a nurse here with us while at work." She added, "Kaav is healthy and I don’t even touch her without washing and sanitizing myself and everything and everyone that comes into contact with her."

"No visits with sick folk and even all of Oprah [Winfrey]'s crew got whooping cough vaccinations and current on all vaccinations to be in our home," Gabrielle continued, revealing her upcoming special with Oprah Winfrey, "Oprah at Home with Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade & Their New Baby". "If you think I waited this long and went thru [sic] all this to put my baby in harm's way… you got another thing coming."

Prior to this, her husband Dwyane Wade faced the same backlash. The 46-year-old basketball star was snapped lovingly planting a kiss on his baby daughter. "Don't kiss that baby on the mouth… Newborns can't deal with sickness because of their immune system," a fan snarked.
