While quitting the platform, The wife of Dwyane Wade shares in her announcement that she'd continue interacting with fans on other platforms like Instagram, Threads, TikTok, BlueSky, Spill and Facebook.

AceShowbiz - Gabrielle Union has decided to quit X, formerly known as Twitter, following Donald Trump's victory at the 2024 presidential election against Kamala Harris. Her decision, however, landed in hot water as online trolls mercilessly mocked her.

Responding to her announcement, some Internet users ridiculed the 52-year-old actress in comments. "Nobody cares Gabriella. Kick rocks girl [laughing face emoji]," one wrote. "Didn't know you were on X and I won't notice you are gone," another said.

Someone else penned, "You guys are such bad losers. Get out already!" Echoing the sentiment, one other added, "You aren't an airline. No need to announce your departure," with another comment read, "No need to announce. Bye."

Gabrielle announced her exit over the weekend, writing, "Platforms like X were founded on authentic connections, true engagement, and creative expression, all anchored in respect for user privacy and trust." The "Bring It On" star noted, "To everyone I've connected with here, thank you for the laughs, the insights, and the endless support, I am not disappearing completely!"

The wife of Dwyane Wade added that she would continue interacting with fans on other platforms like Instagram, Threads, TikTok, BlueSky, Spill and Facebook. She concluded, "Thank you all for being such an incredible part of this journey! Let's keep spreading love and light to one another in the ways that truly matter."

Gabriella isn't the only celebrity who recently decided to leave X. Stephen King also announced his departure from the platform earlier this month.

"I'm leaving Twitter. Tried to stay, but the atmosphere has just become too toxic. Follow me on Threads, if you like," the renowned author wrote at the time. His decision came after it was rumored that Elon Musk had banned him from the platform over a joke about the tech entrepreneur and Trump.
