Just days away from the grand opening of 'The Cher Show', the Broadway star stops by 'Today' and reveals what her role as the Goddess of Pop has gifted her with.

AceShowbiz - Actress Stephanie J. Block discovered her ability to speak like Cher while undergoing teeth whitening treatment in preparation for a starring role in the pop icon's new Broadway musical.

"The Cher Show" features Block alongside co-stars Teal Wicks and Micaela Diamond portraying the legendary entertainer during three different stages of her career, and the Tony Award nominee reveals she actually stumbled upon the perfect voice to play Cher completely by accident.

"I found my Cher voice through Crest White Strips (at-home teeth whitening kit), I'm not kidding," Block grinned on U.S. breakfast show "Today".

"I was bleaching my teeth one day and was reading my lines, and all of a sudden, I just started saying everything (like Cher), and my husband goes, 'You've found it!' I'm like, 'What are you talking about? Oh my God, I sound like Cher!'"

Previews for the New York show began at the Neil Simon Theatre in early November, ahead of its grand opening on Monday, December 3, and after singing and dancing like the superstar for weeks, Block reveals the role has helped her discover a new level of self-confidence.

"Cher gave me the gift of confidence that I did not have before," she explained. "There has been a freedom that I have just found in my mid-40s playing this exquisite creature that I don't think that I will ever shed."
