AceShowbiz - The CW has released the official synopsis of its upcoming annual Arrowverse crossover titled "Elseworlds". The synopsis offers some anwers to some burning questions including the involvement of Gotham City and Smallville.
It has been confirmed that during the 3-part TV event, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Arrow (Stephen Amell) will be heading to Gotham City and Smallville which explains why "Elseworlds" is set to Batwoman (Ruby Rose) and Superman (Tyler Hoechlin).
Kicking off the crossover was "The Flash" in "Elseworlds, Part 1". The official synopsis suggests that Barry Allen and Oliver Queen will "wake up one morning and realize they have swapped bodies with each other, the two set off to find out what disturbed the timeline to cause such a shift."
"However, things quickly go from bad to worse when they present their case to Team Flash and the gang doesn't believe them. Barry and Oliver realize they need Supergirl's (guest star Melissa Benoist) help," continues the synopsis for the episode. "[They] travel to Smallville on Earth-38 where they end up meeting 'cousin, Clark Kent (guest star Tyler Hoechlin), and intrepid reporter, Lois Lane (guest star Elizabeth Tulloch)."
Directed by Kevin Tancharoen from the script by Eric Wallace & Sam Chalsen (#509), the episode will feature LaMonica Garrett guest-starring as The Monitor.
The journey will be continued in an "Arrow" episode that is titled "Elseworlds, Part 2". "With Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Barry (guest star Grant Gustin) still stuck in the other's bodies, the two get a lead on John Deegan (guest star Jeremy Davies) and head to Gotham City with Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) to figure out why their reality has changed," reads the synopsis.
They meet the mysterious Kate Kane (guest star Ruby Rose) who provides them with information that leads the group to Arkham Asylum. The episode was directed by James Bamford directed with teleplay by Marc Guggenheim and story by Caroline Dries (#709).
The battle will reach its conclusion in a "Supergirl" episode titled "Elseworlds, Part 3". "Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin), Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) and Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) engage in the battle of their lives. Jesse Warn directed the episode with story by Marc Guggenheim and teleplay by Derek Simon & Robert Rovner (#409)," according to the synopsis.
Despite the new details, there are still a lot of questions that are haunting fans including how does Barry and Oliver get their minds swapped. However, it won't be that long until fan will learn the answers.
This year's crossover will begin on Sunday, December 9 with "The Flash" at 8 P.M. It will later be followed by an "Arrow" episode on Monday, December 10 at 8 P.M. "Supergirl" will conclude on the following night at 8 P.M. on The CW.
